Our Area

Surrounded by the dramatic countryside of the Yorkshire Dales, Masons Campsite in Appletreewick is in short distance of the quaint villages of Burnsall and Grassington, as well as the historic site of Bolton Abbey. From Appletreewick itself, the imposing Simon’s Seat can be seen, and a walk starting on the riverside path at the bottom of the site leads to the summit.

The village is also home to two country pubs which both serve food. At the bottom of the site runs the River Wharfe, popular with fly fishers and swimmers. The path along the river forms part of the Dalesway walk, meaning hikers can stay at Masons without breaking stride.

Please see our recommendation for local places to eat here.

Our facilities blocks is open around the clock, with hot water available for showers and washing up, and waste disposal just around the corner.

Our team pride themselves on keeping our site clean and tidy, and our “big clean” every day ensures we do just that! We also have coin operated laundry facilities and a freezer for your ice packs.

WiFi is temperamental… but when it works this can be accessed free of charge in our communal courtyard.

We offer on site fire pit hire on a first come, first served basis at check-in. Please note, we do not allow you to bring your own fire pits.

Coffee & Bread Shed

Masons Coffee and Bread Shed opens each morning serving a range of hot drinks, pastries and breads. When you arrive, please pop into our office (the silver Airstream caravan) to order your pastries for the next morning.

At Masons, we strive to be as green as possible! We are trying to reduce plastic packaging as much as possible with compostable coffee cups, cartoned water and milk in glass bottles. We provide great recycling facilities on site!

The shop and reception is housed in our 1968 Overlander Airstream. We sell food essentials, camping basics, and of course sweets and toys for the kids! You can always find a member of our ‘Crew’ in here for a chat or advice on the site and area.
