Masons Campsite FAQs

Make a Booking

Can we be pitched next to our friends?

We do try our very best to pitch you as close to your friends as we can based on the information that you provide us with when you make your booking. As we are now seeing more and more groups at the campsite and manipulating the diary to pitch you together takes a lot of admin time, we have added an extra which will guarantee you will be together.  At the time of booking you can choose ‘pick a pitch’ which is £2.50 per pitch per night or a maximum of £10 and we will ensure you are all together.  We reserve the right to move you on to another pitch located in the same area.  We cannot always guarantee that we can get you right next to each other if you have all booked different size pitches as these are not all located together.  Please see the map on the home page and co-ordinate with your friends.

If booking online, please make any wishes known in the ‘Special Requests box’.

If you book over the phone, please let the office know who you will be camping with.

If you are staying in the River Field there are no designated pitches and your group can pitch as they choose (though you do still need to book on as a group in accordance with our group T&Cs).

How do I make a group booking?

All group bookings are subject to our group booking T&Cs

We do not take groups of teenagers or young adults that are not accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian who is staying on site. We do not take stag or hen parties.

We welcome family groups who are happy to abide by our T&Cs.
To make all group bookings please contact the office for pre-approval and we will then provide instructions on how to make the booking.

Why do we take a security deposit for groups?

The security deposit is our way of managing the campsite so that it remains an enjoyable environment for all our campers.

Every pitch within a group booking must pay a noise deposit of £40 and there are no circumstances in which this can be waived.

Do we have electric hook up?

If you are booked in the Main field, you will have electric hook up and if you are booked into the River field you do not have electric hook up (unless you have booked one of our newer grass serviced River field Jumbo + pitches)

Can we pitch in the River Field?

Not unless the River Field is open (28 days a year only) and you have a booking for the River Field. Motorhomes, caravans and long wheel-based campervans cannot pitch in the River Field.

Do you accept dogs

Dogs are very welcome at Masons providing they are kept on leads.

You may see the owners’ dogs Anouk and Isla off a lead but there are no exceptions for campers. We have free range chickens and live-stock and we have lost too many chickens (which is extremely distressing to witness) that have been killed by our campers’ dogs to make any exceptions.

All glamping tents have dog treats and poo bags and we have water bowls dotted around the campsite.

What do I need to bring to connect to your hook-up?

You will need to bring a 3-pin electric cable. We have a 10-amp electric supply for you to use. Anything above 10-amp will trip the electrics.

We do have some electricity cables that we hire out for a fee.

Do you lock the gates after a certain time?

We have a security barrier for getting in and out of the campsite. This is operated by your car reg. You will need to make sure you have provided the correct registration for entry & exit.

On Site

Is there Wi-Fi available?

We do have Wi-fi available onsite however you will be in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales which makes it very temperamental. When working the best signal can be found in the communal court-yard.

Can we play music?

Masons is a no amplified music site.  We believe in the wonderful sounds around you and encourage you to enjoy these.  If you feel the need to sing or play acoustic music, we ask that you do this with the utmost respect for your fellow campers and keep it to a minimum and outside of our quiet times.

Where is the nearest petrol station/shop?

We have a small shop on site that stocks camping essential and basic foods.  We also have a coffee shop serving barista coffee, fresh croissants and baguettes.

The nearest petrol station is the Spar located in Threshfield (10-minute drive away). The petrol station has a decent size Spar and the local butcher (who we would highly recommend) is located in the Spar.

If you are looking for a supermarket Skipton and Ilkley have Morrisons, Tesco and Booths between them and both are a 30-minute drive away.

Do you have seasonal pitches?

We do not have seasonal pitches. All our pitches are grass due to our position in the National Park and we are closed during the Winter months.

If we forget our airbed or electric cable can we hire one?

We do hire out mattresses and electric cables for those who forget them at home. There is an additional hire charge and we do take a security deposit that will be returned to you once your hired item has been returned to the office.

Can we use our Drone on site?

Masons is strictly a NO DRONE site.  If you are found to be operating a drone you may be asked to leave.

Where is the river?

The River Wharfe is located at the bottom of the campsite.  There is access at the bottom of the site straight onto the river-side path which forms part of the Dalesway in either direction.

Can we swim in the river?

The river is a popular spot for wild swimming, fly fishing and paddling. Please make sure you check the river levels before entering as this can fluctuate depending on the weather.  Whilst we know it is fun, water can be very dangerous and we do recommend children are supervised at all times.  Masons holds no responsibility for any incidents that occur.

Do you allow supermarket deliveries?

Our campers do arrange supermarket deliveries. As we have installed a barrier system, the deliveries will need to be the camper’s responsibility to look out for the delivery van on arrival. As the van cannot come to your pitch it will remain near the entrance however at our busiest times this could cause a delay with check in’s. Please be mindful of other campers.

Can we bring a pup or small tent?

We are a unit-based campsite in the National Park. We accept pup tents for storage or for your children to sleep in for an additional charge. The cost of a pup tent per night is £8.00

Can I book a fire pit?

Glampers can pre book a fire pit as part of their booking.

Campers can hire a fire pit on a first come, first served basis or pre-book on their guest area.  Your own fire pits are STRICTLY not allowed.
