masons campsite facilities

What’s On Site

At Masons we have a wide range of facilities to enhance the comfort of your stay.

Facilities

24/7 Hot Water Access

Our facilities block is open around the clock, with hot water available for showers and washing up. Additionally, our facilities have underfloor heating to keep your feet warm on cooler camping days. We understand the importance of accessibility and convenience, and thus we have a separate disabled bathroom that is fully accessible by wheelchairs, complete with a baby changing station.

Waste Disposal and Recycling

We have conveniently located waste disposal, refuse, and recycling facilities in the facilities area. We encourage all our guests to recycle and provide white buckets to help separate refuse. We also have recycling bins for paper, cans, glass, and plastic, which makes it easier for our guests to recycle.

Drying Room with Coin-Operated Washer and Dryer

We understand that camping can get messy, and thus we have a drying room with a coin-operated washer and dryer. The washing machine costs £4 for a cycle, and the dryer is £1 for 20 minutes. We usually have change on site, and we sell washing detergent in our shop.

Communal Freezer

We have a communal freezer located just to the side of the office, where guests can store or refreeze their ice packs. We take pride in maintaining the highest possible standards, and we ask our guests to inform a member of the team if they notice anything not up to their standards so that we can rectify the situation straight away.

Additional Information

Our facilities are included in the pitch price, and there are no additional costs for the showers. The ladies’ facilities block also has a hairdryer and GHDs available for use at an additional cost of 20p.

Grey water and chemical waste disposal is located at the back of the facilities block (River Field side), and we can only accommodate chemical waste disposal from cassettes.

We strive to be as green as possible, and we encourage our guests to do the same by recycling and using our facilities responsibly.

Masons Campsite Airstream office

Masons Shop

The shop and reception are housed in our unique 1983 Squarestream which we shipped in from the US in 2018.

We sell a small selection of food and many camping essentials including amazing bacon and sausages from Jackson’s Farm shop in Cracoe (we have yet to find better anywhere!). We also sell, milk, eggs, butter, sweets and pocket money toys for the kids.

Boules & Skittles

After moving the airstream office from the communal Court Yard to the Main Field we decided to use to the space to create a twinkling boules court for your enjoyment.

There are plastic skittles and boules located in the box for your convenience.  If you would like to play with proper French boules please see the office.  We require a £10 cash deposit but there is no hire charge and this will returned to you once the boules are checked back in.

This is a lovely family activity that everyone can enjoy. We found our inspiration on our own family camping holiday in the South of France.

Fire Pit Hire

We do not allow campers to bring their own fire pits to Masons.

Masons Campsite Standard Yurt Fire Pit

We take the safety of our campers and the protection of the National Park very seriously. All of our rules and regulations have been put in place to make sure that fire risk is limited and that our campers do not cause damage to the land or the homes of the wildlife that we are pirivileged to live alongside.  What looks like great fire material to you could very easily be a hedgehog’s home. For this reason, it is strictly forbidden to forage for wood. Only our sustainably sourced wood is allowed to be used and additional bags can be purchased from the shop at £8 per bag.

As avid campers, we know sitting around a campfire with your friends and family can be one of life’s greatest moments. For that reason we have a limited number of fire pits available to hire that have been designed to sit at a sensible height above the ground. We understand it can be disappointing if there is no fire pits left on arrival but we have the maximum number of fires that can be safely managed. To try and minimise disappointment group are limited to one fire pit per group.

We take a £10 held security deposit on your card for the hire of the fire pit which is released back to you once the fire pit is returned clean and the hot ashes in the hot ash bins in the designated fire pit area next to the office.
